I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist registered with the HCPC, with experience of working with parents and their children for over 10 years. As a Clinical Psychologist, I am trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques and can integrate these to meet the needs of each unique family.
Becoming a mother or father is one of the most life changing events a person can go through. Being a baby is also one of the most vulnerable times of our lives. For both, it can be joyous and a struggle. As parents, our past experiences, current circumstances, and future expectations can sometimes work against us in our attempts to cherish the growing bump and little person we bring into the world. I work from the position that ALL parents and babies are trying the best they can to relate to one another, and there is no shame in needing some help to make that relationship as comfortable as possible for all.
I live with my son, stepson, partner, two dogs and our cat in West Dorset. I joined DorPIP as an associate after the premature birth of my young son, so this position fits perfectly with both my professional and personal experience. I'm so glad that DorPIP exists to help local families and I'm thrilled to join this hugely important and compassionate cause.
